Treatments We Provide
Fillings
Fillings seal a small hole in your tooth, i.e., a cavity, caused by decay. This prevents the bacteria-induced infection from spreading further into your tooth and into the sensitive inner pulp (nerve) tissue located in the root canal. We offer a variety of materials for fillings, including metal and tooth-colored fillings. We’re happy to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each with you.
Crowns & Bridges
Dental crowns and bridges offer permanent and protective solutions for damaged teeth. The entire process can take 3-7 weeks, so we’ll fit you with a temporary crown at the first visit that you will wear while your permanent crown is being crafted carefully with your individual needs in mind. We work with only the best dental labs in the state.
Inlays & Onlays
Like a crown, an inlay or onlay is a custom-made fitting that we secure to a damaged tooth; however, unlike a crown, it only covers a small portion of the affected tooth. This is a great solution when the damage to your tooth is too extensive to be treated with a cavity but not bad enough to require a crown.
Root Canal Treatment
With proper anesthesia (sedation) and a comfortable environment, a root canal should not be a painful process. This procedure becomes necessary when infection or inflammation develops in the pulp tissue of the tooth, often due to untreated cavities, chipped/cracked teeth, or trauma to the tooth. Having a root canal will help you avoid the possibility of a tooth extraction.
More of Our Restorative Treatments
Bite Correction
Night grinding, constricted chewing patterns, and a general uneven meeting of your teeth all fall under the category of malocclusion (bite problems). This can cause pain, jaw muscle discomfort, and chipping, wear, thinning, and loosening of your teeth. Proper diagnosis is the first step. Treatment options vary and include night guards, expanders, clear aligners, dental bonding, and more.
TMJ/TMD Treatment
TMD, or Temporomandibular Disorders, occurs when you have pain in the area of your ear, jaw, or the muscles on the side of your face with possibly clicking or popping sounds or restricted jaw movement. TMJ is the abbreviation for the temporomandibular (jaw) joint itself. If you are in pain, or are having difficulty opening or closing your jaw, we will do a thorough examination to try to pinpoint the problem area and suggest appropriate remedies.
Sleep Apnea Treatment
A good night’s sleep is essential for good health. Lack of sleep can be caused by sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBD). When soft tissues near the back of the throat collapse during sleep, they partially close off the windpipe and can cause reduced or interrupted respiratory airflow. A person with sleep apnea may wake 50 or more times per hour without having any memory of it. These are called micro-arousals and last just long enough to restore muscle tone to the airway so you can breathe. Unfortunately, all those micro-arousals prevent a restful sleep.
At our office, we can work with you and orders from your sleep physician to make an oral repositioning appliance if your sleep physician feels that it has a reasonable chance of success. Once you have adjusted to where we feel it would have the maximum effectiveness, we’ll refer you back to your physician for another evaluation to determine its success in managing your sleep apnea.
Tooth Extractions
Our goal is to preserve your natural teeth and keep them healthy as long as possible. Sometimes however, this isn’t possible, and a tooth needs to be extracted. This may be due to trauma, decay, or severe gum disease.
Tooth extractions are often paired with implants. Dr. Yaremko has extensive experience in both of these procedures and mentors other dentists in how to best do them. If you need an extraction, he will carefully remove your tooth in a gentle manner that preserves every piece of bone possible. It may be necessary to also place a graft into the area at the time of extraction when an implant is planned.
Implants
There is no tooth-replacement option that will give you a longer-lasting result than an implant. Implants also help preserve tooth-supporting bone that naturally deteriorates when a tooth is lost. Dr. Yaremko will place your implant using a small, screw-shaped titanium post that replaces the root-part of a missing tooth. After a healing period, the implant is topped with a lifelike crown custom-made to match your existing natural teeth. Implants have a documented success rate of about 90%. The after-procedure satisfaction is significantly higher than any other tooth-replacement option.
Gum Disease (Periodontal) Treatment
Periodontal therapy starts with the evaluation of your oral hygiene techniques and instruction for improving them, followed by the mechanical removal of plaque and any calcified deposits (tartar or calculus) that are present on the root surfaces. This is accomplished with a cleaning technique known as scaling, root planing, or debridement using hand instruments and/or ultrasonic instruments.
Locally applied antimicrobial products or antibiotics might also be recommended during various parts of your periodontal treatment to assist in healing and pocket-depth reduction, hopefully eliminating the need for periodontal surgery. Sometimes surgical procedures may be necessary to remove the deep pockets that form between inflamed gum tissue and teeth. Many times, combinations of procedures are used to fight the disease and help you keep your teeth.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
Some dental cases are very complex and require a variety of different treatments over time to achieve the final desired outcome. Full mouth reconstruction may be beneficial when most of your teeth have cavities, are structurally compromised or weak, and/or some of your teeth are lost to decay, gum disease, genetics, or trauma, and the remaining teeth need to be altered for bite or esthetic reasons. If you are a candidate for this, Dr. Yaremko will go over all the options with you to ensure that you are informed and empowered in your oral healthcare planning. With you, he will create a comprehensive treatment plan to accomplish your goals and achieve a healthy mouth with a great long-term prognosis.
High Tech Diagnostics
In order to properly diagnose you and suggest which restorative and reconstructive treatments would be most appropriate, we use the best and latest in dental technology including CBCT scans, intraoral cameras, and laser decay scanners.
