Common Questions
Here you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we are asked about our dental services.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
During your initial appointment, Dr. Yaremko will discuss your dental history, give you a thorough exam (typically including X-rays and sometimes other scans and tests), and outline a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. If you have dental anxiety, we’ll talk about it and come up with an approach that will work best for you. A cleaning may take place at this first appointment, or we may schedule you for a follow-up appointment. Our exams and evaluations are comprehensive and therefore do not always include a cleaning with our hygiene team, as we first need to determine the type of cleaning that is best suited for your needs.
Is sedation available during my cleanings?
We do have options to help you relax thoroughly during your cleanings, as we completely understand that for some people, any type of dental care can create anxiety. We’ll go over the options with you and ensure that you feel good about your choices before proceeding with any in-chair care.
Do you need my records from my last dentist?
Getting your medical records from your previous dentist prior to your appointment is ideal, if possible. We have a medical records release form that you can send to your dentist to allow them to send us your records. Please check with our front desk, and they will help you do this.
Do you accept dental insurance?
Our practice is designed to provide excellent, quality care and specific, detailed, individualized treatments. We do not provide discount care. Although we accept assignment from almost all insurance companies, we are not discount providers for any of them (your insurance company will call this a preferred provider organization or PPO).
I saw a different dentist already, and I'd like a second opinion about a treatment he/she suggested. Can you offer that?
Absolutely! We encourage our patients to be active participants in their treatment planning. The better informed you are in both your diagnosis and prognosis, the better you can make choices that are right for you. Dr. Yaremko cares for a high number of patients in need of complex care, including full mouth reconstruction patients. He is always happy to provide an exam and evaluation to a patient who is seeking trustworthy advice and care.
